Roxana Daneshjou, MD, PhD

Dr. Roxana Daneshjou is a board-certified dermatologist and physician-scientist whose research focuses on the development and evaluation of AI systems and technologies in biomedicine and healthcare. After completing her BS in Bioengineering at Rice University, she earned an MD and PhD (Genetics) degrees from Stanford University, where she was advised by Dr. Russ Altman and supported by the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship. She completed her residency in Dermatology at Stanford Medicine and a postdoctoral fellowship in Stanford DBDS, advised by Dr. James Zou. She currently is the assistant director of the Center of Excellence for Precision Heath & Pharmacogenomics, director of informatics for the Stanford Skin Innovation and Interventional Research Group (SIIRG), a founding member of the Translational AI in Dermatology (TRAIND) group, and a faculty affiliate of Human-centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI), the AI in Medicine and Imaging (AIMI) center and Stanford Bio-X.
